Karel (Kovy) Kovář is one of the most distinctive names on the Czech YouTube scene; with over 840,000 subscribers, it has been a long time since he was followed by children alone. In his videos he explores issues of national importance: politics, financial literacy, privacy and social media. Forbes magazine has ranked him among the 20 most influential Czechs on social media. In the past Kovy, as he is known, has hosted the discussion show and the charity concert Světlo pro Světlušku and conducted an interview with then European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker for Euronews. He has participated in the TV show Stardance and with Ivo Bystřičan conducted a documentary probe of Czech modern history teaching entitled Kovy řeší dějiny (Kovy Sorts Out History). He co-hosts the podcast Linka with Tereza Salte and has written two bestsellers: the autobiography Ovšem (Naturally) and young adult fiction iPohádka (iFairytale).
